100m race

Usain Bolt is the fastest human alive having covered 100m in 9.58sec in Berlin in August 2009. Not a great time but the guy only has two legs so...

Here is a list of the fastest animals in the world over 100m distance:

1. Cheetah------------------3.19sec
2. Pronghorn Anteleope----3.67
3. Thomson's Gazelle-------4.50
4. Lion-----------------------4.50
5. Wildebeast----------------4.50
6. Sprinkbok-----------------4.50
7. Quarter Horse------------4.74
8. Cape Hunting Dog--------5.00
9. Elk-------------------------5.00
10. Coyote-------------------5.22

Okay, these times are from a running start, and the human will win any race over a long distance (say 30 miles) cos the other animals can't sweat like we can (and we have only two legs cos we need hands to have a wank), but still... how you like dem apples Mr Bolt!!!!

The list divides fairly evenly between hunter and prey animals. Evolution at work I would say.
