Tech help required........pleeeease

Hi all

A little tech help required here.

Was surfing a little porn today when this screen popped up saying that my laptop was locked by something called the "automated information control system (ACIS)".

The reason that I have allegedly viewed banned or kiddy porn sites or stored pirated content - none of which is true.
The screen has the Garda name and symbol on it and says I must buy a "Ukash voucher" and enter the code etc.

I have no doubt that this is a scam but any ideas on how to free up laptop.

I can't minimise screen and there is no web bar address at the top.

Any help or assistance would be appreciated.

Can you not just manually shut down and reboot?

Have you tried pressing Ctrl, Alt and Delete, selecting task manager, closed your browser and reloaded it?

Just perform a hard shutdown by holding down the power on button then restart and run your antivirus but make sure your definations are up to date that should do the trick

Also, when you reload, check any newly installed programs and remove them (make sure that the installation of them are today's date).

Yeah but as soon as I switch back on the laptop it pops back up. Even if modem is switched off.

There should be a way to reload your computer to yesterday or this morning and it will wipe that scam of the computers memory
