Its just a reboot to a week ago

Im pretty sure you can do it on your DOS page when you load up your computer (The black page with white text) If you hot f11 as Sam said there you should get a list of options one of them will be system reboot to a certain time

Had a similar issue last year with Malware from a rogue ticket sales site. This worked for me:

Re-start the computer in Safe Mode with Networking

Open web browser & go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download the free version.
Install that on your computer & run a Quick Scan - should take about 15 - 20 minutes.

Once it finishes, it shows the results of the scan and you then remove them.
It re-starts the computer, and everything should be back to normal.

Don't have a Safe mode option when starting up. Can't do anything before this damn pop up appears.

I've found 2 disks that came with laptop.

1. Dell - drivers and utilities (contents device drivers and diagnostics and utilities).

2. Dell - application (for reinstalling Dell MediaDirect 3

While the machine is starting up, continually hit the F8 key. This will open it up with the 'safe' menu

It's an old work machine so may be slightly different.

When I switch on I get a black Dell screen. On the top right it says F2 Setup and F12 Boot Menu. I've tried both options as page is loading. With both it looks as though something is loading but then a white page appears - this is normal.

The white Dell screen says that the system primary HDD is password protected. You are asked to enter the password and enter. When I do this I get a black Microsoft Windows XP screen.

I'm then asked for a windows password which is the final password to load the desktop.

I now have the option of

Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with on and prompt
Last known good configuration - sound good.

Where do I go from here guys?

You could try throwin your computer out the window and runnin as far away as possible! :-D
