Sorry to hear that Mart... Almost half the Irish population is now in receipt of a social welfare payment from the government as the recession deepens. I know men who have worked for the best part of their lives who have recently lost their jobs due to this pisser of a recession.. Very disheartening...
Hope things get better for you

hate to put a downer on ya but I am 6 years on the dole now, and as my only skills are building I honestly can't see any hope for me finding the level of work I used to have for at least another 8-10 years,

luckily enough I don't have the social on my back monthly to go out and retrain as the wife works full time so I am a househusband LOL
plus the odd nixer turns up every now and then

It is tough out there and frustrating as the people on the dole are not the cause of the problem, just victims of other peoples greed and wrong doing. Stay positive and remember that what you are getting is not a hand out or charity, just an entitlement you have from the years of honest graft you put in when you had the chance.

A lot more will join you as the austerity that the spineless sheep of Ireland voted in has yet to become law and of course yet to cause unemployment. Only thing is they will then have to take their minds out of their arses and do something. the joys of it.
