I feel the resouces could have been better spent in actually achieving what the Gardai have said they set out to do.
Lets look at the reality here.
Contrary to what a lot of people might think not all escorts are fabulously wealthy, the more i've heard recently is that many have been struggling to pay the rent., electricity, advertising etc. Many will now have lost their deposits on their apartments as they are no longer able to stay there. If they do, they are too scared or nervous to work iit might be water off a ducks back to the more experienced escorts but alot of these are just young girls(20+) . During the raids their laptops, phones, documentation and cash were seized. They now have to find deposits and advanced rent if they do want to work. Its these girls that it has hit not any so called criminal gangs supposedly behind it
Just a little rant about the Gardai as welfare officers notion that came up on the other thread. I've no doubt they now have trained officers in this area and are undoubtably more sympathetic and better informed than in the past, but since when did welfare officers break down doors and confiscate cash and possessions from scared young girls ??
Come in she said "I'll give you shelter from the storm "
