Isn’t it ironic that the PSNI and An Garda Síochána have united this community, this island, like I’ve never seen it before.

Here at E-I we’re in danger of becoming a group of scared, narcissistic, paranoid and irrational little people. Yes, we all needed to be somewhat careful for a couple of days. But Ireland faces many huge problems and the existence of independent escorts isn’t one of them. The police appreciate that this industry has existed since the dawn of man and that it will continue until Armageddon. Actions like we’ve seen this week have occurred before and yet the industry survives.

But guys, we must understand and accept that we are hosting a large number of what are essentially young girls, who are living in a strange country and without the experience of what things really are like on this island and how all is not always what it seems. We must reassure them but also accommodate their fears without belittling them. It is only natural that they have been scared and a little jumpy this week. And girls, I know that some of us come across as old has-beens, but you don’t always know everything and sometimes we are drawing upon years of experience when we reassure you that things will return to normal and will be ok again.

And I think fondly tonight of those girls who don’t access these boards or other support mechanisms. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been over the past week to hear rumors and scare stories and not know what‘s going to happen next. I can’t bear to think of the strain of having to support yourself in this strange country without knowing where your next income might come from. I have read the whole thread. Im still none the wiser.

Probably sums it up, especially on the 'fanclub'. I saw that stuff last night and I was shocked by it. In fact the possibility that I might be associated with that sort of behaviour would make me quit this 'club' alot sooner than a Garda ringing my doorbell.

We are spooked because

1. Apparently some escorts are volunteering information to the Police

2.The properties raided are potentially under surveillance

3.Records obtained in the raids include mobile phone contact details

Not breaking any laws just as the escorts are not, just concerned that our personal contact information is the hands of the police now whether obtained by force or by voluntary submission

I think that may be the perception but its an overreaction, imo. And even if escorts do delete numbers immediately the numbers will still be on their phone account records. Unless I'm totally mistaken these records have to be kept by the phone companies for 10 years. So if something serious does happen then the Gardai will be able to access all that info in any case. You leave a trail one way or another.
I think escorts have every right to introduce themselves to the Gardai. In fact I think it should be encouraged. I wonder how many punters would come forward if something happened an escort they had just visited or were about to visit?

Something similar happened to me in Dublin about 5 years ago. After leaving an escort two guards stopped me and was questioned in their car. They took my details and I was told, I had never bothered again. Three years later I got phone call from one of the sergeant and they ordered me to attend as a witness on a trial. Thanks God, the trial was cancelled.
