All of us are fine. Most of the ladies were not raided, thats not the case. They had a welfare visit, all was fine so were good to go.

Let’s hope that these raids really targeted the criminal side of things and that genuine independent girls were left alone. As for debating the value of the raids, if only one person is rescued that is something to acknowledge, no women or man should be forced to work in this or any industry by duress or threat. And like has been said maybe there is a maturity been exercised here and not knee jerk reactions for selected drum beaters.

I see according to the Irish Times headline, Gardai raided 140 brothels....I wonder will we see 140 people charged with running a brothel.....methinks not.

Like has been said by others in this thread, it seems a lot of the visits were like welfare checks, describing them as "raids" isn't really appropriate.

It seems it was a 1 day operation and not necessarily a bad thing.

I think a lot of people in this industry - both escorts and clients - feel that if it is a case of police looking for any possible victims of trafficking etc, not hassling independents etc, then operations like this are not a bad thing.
