    some great mentions so far! I was going through the list, and was surprised it took so long for someone to mention the film 'Beaches', fair play for mentioning it Anon!

    Another great one with a sad ending is 'The Mighty'-- don't want to spoil the end, as many of you probably haven't seen it yet-- do give it a watch if you can find it!

    And how is it that NO ONE has mentioned the end of 'American History X' yet!? The scene at the end where he gets shot in the bathroom and his brother runs in, holding his lifeless body, and all after the night spent turning around on their hateful ways? One of the most tragic endings ever to flash across the big screen...

    The end of The Gladiator makes me well up everytime I see it ..... "Now we are free we'll meet again soon, but not yet ..... not yet"
