Im pretty sure someone posted a thread only a day or two ago that someone was trying to access their a/c here as well and that they traced the ip to Nigeria

Yep, someone tried to log into my account on Saturday 45 times, got 9 alerts, IP indicates Nigeria not that that means anything. Hard to know what actually happened from the outside but the attack seems rather simple minded. A reminder for everyone to be security aware, use "STRONG PASSWORDS" for important accounts, and use different passwords for different accounts. Keep you computer and software up to-date.

This is exactly what you should do with any of your accounts on the internet, keep strong not easily guessable passwords, this sort of attack is happening on any sites on daily basis, and our system will lock the attacker out for 15min after 5 not successful attempts. Which takes very much down the possibility of them guessing your password and impossible to proceed with brutal force attack (trying combinations of password in rapid rate). Believe or not but one of the most used password on the internet is "password". I guess how many of you have it

These attack are happening here and there in not frequent cases and they come from over the world, which means they are probably using a botnet, if it would became more frequent we will need to introduce something like CAPTCHA for log in, which I feel could be a bit annoying.

Feckin hate Captcha, honestly, if that was introduced I'd loose all interest in logging in, some may see it as a good thing I know but they are just impossible to read sometimes and you are hitting refresh to get an easier one to type, major pain in the arse and not in the good sense...
