A tough one to answer , as when they go a crunch the numbers and such will they add up .
But when one of the elite EEC members are starting to doubt this , you would wonder have they a clue as to what will solve this mess .: doc

I think France just got into a big "shit" but as long as they vote for it...they will have to get along with it

People are fed up of being force fed austerity to protect the elite. Voters are going outside the mainstream.
They can't solve the crisis because there's no consensus in Europe. What it means for Ireland? No idea....
But I do think the Euro is fucked!

Simples - Merkel needs to be told she's wrong, ECB need to print money (not indefinitely!).

It's great news for Ireland, and for the EU.

One in the eye to international finance and their friends in the neoliberals and right-wing parties. Encore!

I take quite different view. I don't think it has anything to do with the fiscal treaty per se.

We are all going through tough times (in Europe). People are just unhappy! And vote against the current powers that be!

No European government has been relelected since the start of the current econimic crisis! We all just vote the opposition! Just look at us here in Ireland. Essentially we all voted against Finna Fail in the last election. I dont' think the government we voted in however, has been able to do things the way they planned. Once in power they realise they are constrained by the economic realities and constraints.

So I don't pay much credance to the fact that the French voted the centre left (socialists) rather than the centre right. In the U.K they did the exact opposite - voting the centre right (Conservatives) rather than the centre left (Labour). It's just a vote against difficulty and unhappiness.

I think it all comes down to whether we want to stay in the Euro and EU. Greece has voted radically against their current goverment. But I can bet that the new government won't be able to do anything different.

For years we have been having a much higher living standard in the west (developed world) than the rest of the world. Living way beyond our means. Ecomomies based purely on spending, and not necessarily spending on what we need and paying grossly inappropriate prices (e.g. housing market). It all had to come to an end.

Eh, no - didn't bother voting myself as it was pointless; the Troika are running the country not the Government.
