Default Any musicians in the house?

I've been playing the guitar on and off for about 15 years. I'm no Eric Clapton, but I can bang out a half decent tune on a guitar. I play more acoustic guitar than electric (I love finger-picking more than strumming), but I've just been in the music shop on my lunch break, and I've got my eye on a Les Paul:

It will probably be something I will buy for my birthday, given that it will cost near £500

Naturally, I will probably get a Marshall amp for it!

I've had a few guitars in my time, but at the moment I only have a standard Fender Acoustic:

So, do we have anyone else here that can toot a flute or loves to rock on a drum-kit? Perhaps we should hold auditions for 'E-I's Got Talent'!

Just a question, I wouldn't know guitars really but when I hear Les Paul I think mega bucks, £500 doesn't seem a lot, can you buy one that cheap?

Yes, you can, but they can go up to ridiculous amounts! There was a Slash signature one going for £1000. The irony is that the guitar he had was actually a Les Paul copy, not an actual Les Paul, so the company had to invent a Les Paul just so that Slash's signature could be on it!
