    Default Behind the scenes

We're often told by mods or managers that bannings/thread deletions/review deletions/whatever may look dodgy, but that they are justified by something going on behind the scenes that we ordinary mortals can't see. But I've been wondering lately, why is it that those who have been behind the scenes and seen what is going on there keep being banned? Just to remind people, the following people were once community or reviews mods and are now banned: bigbadjohn, ninebythree, westside, quarterpounder and now carlos marvado. Now some of those people should never have been mods in the first place, but this still raises some questions:

    - When we're told about what's happening behind the scenes, which version should we believe?
    - Why should we trust the judgment of the current crop of mods, when most of the people who did the job previously have quit and/or been banned?
    - Who's next?

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

I really don't think about it too much. I come here for a bit of a laugh, I don't take this place (or any other Internet site) seriously at all.

You say things as if they are an absolute, "They should never have been mods in the first place". That's really your opinion, not a fact.

People are not just banned without reason. Whether it is plastered publicly or not doesn't change the fact that they are banned either. What goes on behind the scenes is nobody's concern either.

Carlos was banned for yet again singling out escorts in the forums and creating speculation. He has been warned many times about this and this time he pushed things (again).

Whether you believe it or not isn't really our concern. People make up their own version of the truth anyway. The irony is that you preach about not trusting the mods here when we are working with people that are anonymous, go to great lengths to mask their details and won't report alleged illegal activities to the authorities.

Who is next? The next person that either breaches the rules of the forum or pushes things too far.

So you think they should still be mods? Then why are they banned?

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”

Actually, I had this in mind as referring to this:
