Default Should Ireland re introduce the death penalty?

Knowing that most developed nations (barring the US have it and its not much of a deterrent there)

But for serious crime and gangland.murders should.they bring it back ?

Not a fan of the death penalty, but I believe 'life' in prison....should be extended, so that they actually spend their life in prison.

the death penalty has to be brought back how many would commit awful murders if they knew they would face the lethal injection or hanging noone has the right to take the life of another person Criminals no longer have a fear of prison with computers gym facilities etc available to them Yes bring back death penalty for gangland murders & serious crime lets stop this bullshit human rights protecting the interests of these people they do not deserve to breath the same air as decent people

Certain criminals deserve it. Child killers/rapists/paedophile types would be high on that list for me. Murderers too. But you'd need a more American approach to murder different degrees I mean. Murder in the First, Second etc.

There are plenty of evil people out there who are never going to be rehabilitated and it's a waste of resources keeping them around... you know? Scousers.

No, much as I think there are some people who deserve it, I always think of cases like the Birmingham Six, Guilford Four,Derek Bentley and others.

I never really had a moral issue with the death penalty. I suppose that I believe that not only are there some crimes/criminals that deserve it, but I also believe that in some circumstances, life in prison is more cruel and inhumane than the death penalty.

Is it still mandatory death sentence (although no carried out) for the murder of a Garda or has that been changed?
As a parent I'd say death sentence for child sex abusers ........ Scum of this earth
