The news article says that this sort of torture of minors suspected of being possessed by demons - is common in some parts of Africa!!!!!

Both Bikubi and the Bamu family hail originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, where accusing children of witchcraft and then exorcising them is commonplace.
The practice is known as "kindoki" and during the trial, the jury was told it was the "driving force" behind the murder.

Seeing as how none of us had any choice in where we were born - we should be thankful daily that we didn't grow up in such an environment!!
I followed this case, good they were found guilty. I wonder though, how people who practice Obeiah and so on could ever adapt to their new countries- for them it would be akin to a religion, so one would think almost impossible to leave behind. There have also been several body parts found of young African males found in various locations- this has been attributed to sacrificial murder, the children often trafficked to the country. One very sad story I remember well is 'Adam'

I didn't accuse Wicca or any other organization of the same sort, I was just saying that I am not surprised that happened in Britain because the variety of the religious belives seems to be very wide.

Immigration brings its own customs I suppose. Paganism and Wicca are recognised religions in the UK. Obeiah/kindoki would be a type of bush medicine/black magic. Not much call for that in High Wycombe

i remember this happening in london, unreal, you have spared the gory details but it still makes my blood run cold. horrible thing is, like you say, this goes on way too often, only reason we heard bout it was cos evidence was left behind. there's alot of witch doctory stuff going on in african communities in london that people have no idea about

Hi Lisa, this stuff has nothing to do with pagan belief. It is a very backwards and twisted Christian phenomenon I am afraid.

Unfortunately though that is precisely what scripture says "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live"

Just another charge to add to the long list of Sky Daddy's shame.
