I called the Agency xxx maybe about 6weeks ago for an outcall, i really wanted to see one of there girls. Anyway im super happy i didnt go through with it now.

I agree about registration. I was taken by how little Ruhama talked about the welfare of women and the support that could and should be given to them - suggests they are more interested in moralising than welfare. Maybe I am wrong and some people have experience of genuine support and help for themselves or people they know from the Ruhama organisation.
Of all the ladies spoken to by RTE on the programme they only showed an offer of support to one lady and did not talk about offering support to any others ( apart from the unfortunate victim of trafficking from Africa). Is this all they did? or did they offer support to others and get reactions on film that were not in line with the argument they were broadcasting?

I apologise for not noticing the "like" - As Ruhama were the only people talked to on the programme my only wish is that sex workers have or get a better support organisation than that. Maybe they do a lot of work that RTE did not have time to publicise.

Me neither.. I thought the phone conversation with the "new escort" came across as quite balanced and business like. Didn't sound threatening or exploitative, just honest, but maybe I was listenning with rose tinted ears!

have to say i'm really shocked by the reaction from the posters to that show last night.
the only really new part of it was the bit about the romainian pimp everything else like the people behind e-i and the xxx agency has all been said before and even said on here. fair enough the posts have been deleted and the posters banned for saying it but its nothing new and nothing that i didnt already know.
i just cant really believe how many of the other posters have had their heads in the sand about this.
and if any of you think that any of this will make any diffrence to e-i admin staff or mods you have your heads in the sand again.
its nothing they didnt already know and nothing here will change in any way.

i dunno about anyone else, but this programme has certainly painted EI in a less than favourable light. If the primetime team can set up a simple database, then so can the guards, which is true, but so should EI. I mean if the people who made the programme can spot patterns and pinpoint a pimp moving gangs of girls across the country every week, why cant EI, or more appropriately, why dont EI? EI are receiving the monies and info about these profiles every week, surely patterns should be picked up on? Escort Directory bullshit or not, if there is any doubt, then act upon it instead of the tiresome "we are only a directory facilitating ad profiles blah blah blah". Surely it is better to act on a hunch and listen to what people are saying rather than take the risk and end up having another fiasco where groups of escorts are deported to face court cases and possible criminal sentences and more importantly, perhaps stop the trafficking of women here. Is a few quid every week worth that much to EI, that they'd rather not take the risk until its too late again? Again being the important word since it has already happened. There are far too many grey areas about EI's conduct for my liking to which we always get trotted out the same party line again and again. Well its not good enough for me anymore, so im out for now. But i will continue posting my warning threads and the obvious which EI continues to miss and turn a blind eye to, either accidentally or on purposd for the sake of a few quid every week. Sadly, the latter seems to be the more accurate view
