But surely knowing that EI have facilitated what was portrayed last night raises a serious dilemma for independent ladies. By doing business with an organisation that has behaved so shabbily, is questionable. It could be considered token support. Lads and ladies, as I said I will make a proper statement today!

We were not informed by rte of the content of the programme beforehand and despite this we still made a statement to rte which was not included in the programme. I have my views, and I will share, but I can't until later today.

Please stop jumping the gun and assuming what I'm thinking!

I am not treating this subject as a joke and nor am I shocked. I presume what has shocked some people is the evidence this Romanian guy has been found to be advertising 14 escorts on E-I. Until I'm more familiar with that case, I'm not inclined to comment on it, but I'm afraid in a country where sex work is driven underground and there is practically no policing of the industry these things have to be expected I think. I think the solution is more complex than blame E-I or blame the clients.

Can I ask how the genuine independent ladies will respond to the moral dilemma they are now confronted with. can you continue to support EI by way of advertising fees.?
I will be requesting a personal ban on my own profile ..a permanent one. My eyes have been opened.....Goodbye everyone."Above all things...to thine own self be true"
Rather than leaving, you might do a better service by staying and trying to influence change.

The format of this site is top class but I fear the owners are shooting themselves in the foot by not taking the appropriate action and if they do, decent clients and escorts will support them. The football clubs in the UK said that soccer violence was society's problem, not theirs but when the heat came on , they took action and have reaped the rewards of safer grounds.

All of the focus is on the underworld and trafficking etc and that can threaten the work of the indie girls into the future. If girls could operate in an environment where they could work discreetly as indies, they would probably be allowed to work in couples without much hassle from the authorities but all the underworld stuff allows people, who actually want to stamp out prostitution altogether, to sound reasonable.

I thought Liberty's call to prosecute decent clients visiting genuine escorts laughable but again she was supported by many. ! But then thats not the first time I have been taken aback by the attitude of people here. !

    Hiya Peej

Im not going to comment fully until everyone including EI has there say. All I can say is right now, as far as I am concerned, I am one of the few independent ladies in Ireland. As such if we leave, all the genuine clients will have to choose from is more of what was shown last night. A greater commitment is needed to help those ladies, not help people such as me. So..I am going to wait and see.

I think this is all geared towards the Red Light Campaign being successful. It could be they had a major win last night.

Its neither IMHO. It's evidence we need to talk about this issue. What would be good is if we could have constructive debate, not just blame the websites, blame the clients, only look at one side of the story, and bring in new laws to drive it further underground, despite the fact the police aren't even being resourced to deal with issues like trafficking which we already have laws against and nobody (other than traffickers) wants to see going on.

yep, while you and i have spared in the past,i for one believe without doubt that the true indies ,yourself included are a small procentage of the total escort industry here, i also believe E.I has to look at its self and ask can they turn a blind eye and just take the money? which i might add is what they are doing now

Speaking of laws, one thing I was really pleased to see last night was it being highlighted that it is women working as escorts who are being brought before the courts on brothel charges, not the real pimps. Lets not forget that point please.
