Default Grad Student Looking to interview Punters

Just came across below query over here on my American Punting Forum -
    > wondering what type of reactions it would garner on EI??:

    Hi,

I'm a graduate student at XXX. I'm interviewing hobbyists/mongers/johns (whatever name you like) about their experiences with sex worker for a class project. If you'd be willing to speak with me, please send me an email and we can arrange a time to talk. My email is XXX. Interviews will be totally anonymous. Thanks!

... I saw a while back that our erstwhile colleague A.Horan engaged with a journalist & it ended up in the press....
Only thing that's surprising (to me) is that this type of stuff doesn't happen more frequently around here given the purient interest of the broader public.

FWIW the replies over here have ranged from Punters outlining their reluctance to get involved to suggesting attending one of the Parties...along with a sprinkling of "How do we know you're not a Cop etc..."

Anytime a journalist tried to make contact with punters here, it was always always always for a one-sided report about how we were all uncaring laughing rapists who threw money at crying refugee women while we tore their clothes off.

Hear you Mousey- I've been a bit surprised the journo thing isn't more common in the States ( I've never seen it in years on US Forums), but of course there are some differences viz, Punting is Illegal over here- period! Trafficking <seems> to be a far less prevalent concern, there's a much bigger audience & the yanks have a big thing about 'freedom of speech' so are far less likely to keep silent in response to such a request ( even if its just to shoot it down).

Although I'd surmise that everything posted on EI becomes copyright of the Forum I've always been surprised that no registration is required to copper fasten that 'contract'! Just saying...

I wonder if he/she will get a bite. Reading the forum would give them enough info. lol

There was a journalist here a while back who interviewed a few people, including me. If we want people to realise we aren't monsters then we should be willing to answer reasonable questions.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

Yeah Horan told the journalist a few whoppers which needless to remark were reprinted lovingly verbatim (Anon361 made some contributions too, quite sincerely I felt) but the whole thing was a typical load of skewed bollox.

And quite offensive too. Quite callous towards working girls and the piece de resistance: not only are married men paying for sex but "lonely perverts" too.

So thats that. Thats how much compassion a lonely person merits. And they wonder why blokes top themselves in record numbers in this country.
    Bada Bing!!!

There's been a similar study here in Ireland done as a Phd thesis on punting/escorting, but the focus has been more on the ladies and health issues. All of the interviews were conducted with escorts. Final publication of the thesis is pending, hoping it'll find its way into a format we can access.
