AND you cannot be held liable for 'damages' to intruder. ie, if you beat him up, he cannot turn around to sue you.
This law actually goes even further than ours does (US).
We can claim self defense if we fight off an intruder, but we cannot use force to protect our property..
(of course, if I throw myself in his way to stop him from getting out with my valuables, and he attacks me,
then I can fight him off, etc. But we cannot use force from behind.)
I take it thia legislation still does not cover it as protecting property if you decide to confront this intruder as he flees from your house?
