I did my washing and ironing and watched a couple of films. I couldn't give a rats arse about NYE.

Each to their own but what is the point of NYE? A contrived load of boll**ks IMHO ...

I had a brilliant time. My house, nibbles, chocolate fountain, a few drinks with a friend I've known for over 20 years, my 2nd cousin (she's the same age as my son, 18) and we watched Burlesque and Mamma Mia. We had a few gfs visit through out the night, we wore onesies and cuddled up on the sofa with a blanket and ate, drank and made merry. We even let Jules Holland join us for the betwitching hour and that was enjoyable too, even if I do think he's a dirty old man.

I much prefer to stay in than go out, but it's nice to spend it with a few friends that you can really be yourself with and not care what other people think.

    We had a ball!

it is all very much overrated without wanting to sound a spoilsport I'm glad its all over- having said that I would have dearly loved to have had that special someone to share New Years Eve with

    It was excellent

    Chocolate and wine ..

Just a few days ago I was whishfully wondering if there are any fireworks in Dub over New Year's and wistfully

I was hoping that there would be.. And lo-and-behold, yesterday close to midnight I was standing on my balcony,

fresh air to rosy my cheecks, bit of breeze through my hair.., looking over the City, and watching fireworks

And I found myself taking stock of this last year..

And the phrase "You have come a long way, Baby" kept popping into my head and I smiled....

2011 has been challenging, exhilarating, rewarding, joyful, and promising..

I reflected back on past years, on past New Year's nights, and felt that I am in a good place (physically and in my heart).

So yes, I spent it alone, I spent it as I like it, and it was wonderfully rewarding..
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

    Kudos to you Stephanie ...

Went out for a meal on NYE. Shit ambience, shit food & totally overpriced.
So bad was the experience that I even complained. How unIrish is that, lol?!?
