Excellent and informative post Kelly
If I may also add the people who want a very specific address from the very beggining of the conversation, when the general area given on a profile should be more than enough.
An example from this morning, not a phone call thugh as I was asleep and the "gentleman" resorted to text me when I didn't answer my phone, but I assume he would have asked the same when calling:
"hi amy how are u i do you want like sex with me pay right yes i what your address door number pls"
So this is soliciting at its highest and stupidest degree. Plus also the fucked up notion I would send someone my address in full. I would never see someone like him, ever. If he wasn't ill intended (the odds are he was), he was way too stupid to be trusted with an appointment.

The "legal" way to solicit and importune an escort by telephone:
Client: Good morning/afternoon/evening (insert name of escort). You have the pleasure of communicating by telephone with THE LEGEND.
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yessssssssssssssssss!
Client: THE LEGEND wishes to know if you would be available to spend some time in the company of THE LEGEND at (insert time according to the 24 hour clock)?
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yessssssssssssssssss!
Client: THE LEGEND would like to know if the photographs on your profile represent a recent and accurate depiction of yourself?
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yessssssssssssssssss!
Client: THE LEGEND notes the list of favourites as per your profile and wishes to enquire if this list is accurate and inclusive of your fee for your time and companionship?
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yessssssssssssssssss!
Client: Furthermore, THE LEGEND is in the habit of bringing little gifts with him to ensure that the rendevous gets off to a good start.
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yessssssssssssssssss!
Client: Do you have any questions that you would like to ask THE LEGEND?
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yessssssssssssssssss, why does the THE LEGEND always speak in the the third peron singular?
Client: In the event of the police finding out THE LEGEND'S real identity, THE LEGEND will be able to claim that somebody else was engaging in these activities on his behalf, but without his knowledge or permission. THE LEGEND has spoken.
Escort: Ooooooooooooh yesssssssssssssssss!
Take note of THE LEGEND brothers and sisters. The reason he manages to remain a legend is that he never lets his mask or cloak of secrecy slip. He remains a legend because only THE LEGEND knows who THE LEGEND really is. To the rest of us, he is simply legendary.

Ok girls I have read all your posts and I sympathize in general with the yobos you have to deal with. But I put it to you, you have to try and detect the decent & honest punter. If a guy is cordial and polite you should at least try to be cordial and polite back. You are a service provider and if you wish to profit from providing these services you need to adopt a phone manner accordingly.
Now I know I have no right to tell you how to run your business, please believe this is not my intention, but I can tell you, whereas you have received more calls than I could ever make in my lifetime, remember I have called more girls than you have. I have witnessed all the different phone types. I have to say the majority of phone manner leaves a lot to be desired. Most sound tired, bored or disinterested. Through my perseverance in a lot of cases the lady has turned out to be only fantastic. But the girl that sounds bubbly and polite gets my interest immediately. If I am choosing an escort, that first impression is so important to me personally, and if there is a hint of rudeness, I will thank her and move on to the next…
I don’t see the stigma with “are you working” ... How does this insinuate a factory.. This is your chosen line of work after all. You provide sex for money, you work in the sex industry, you can dress it up as you like. Its not as if you are being asked “are you fucking tonight?” How about “are you free”… I use this 99% of the time, what am I doing wrong here. It is a common English term to ask a service provider at what time an appointment may be made so as not to look for a time that you are engaged. “Are you free at 7 tonight”, if this is the case all the escorts I have met hate me.
The few girls that post here generally do sport a profile that is a true indication of their working status, location and favourites, but I can tell you from experience, this is not always the case, and I have been burned in the past. I have rung girls to make an appointment for the following night only to find on the day of the appointment they decided not to work. Favourites CANNOT be trusted on the majority of profiles… Its because you girls are answerable here that your profiles are 100%.... the other 99% of profiles are hit and miss…
There ya go… I’m done…

James, interesting angle if a little disrespectful. Phone manner can also be location dependent, supposing you call a girl and she happens to be in the hairdresser, shopping, getting a manicure whatever, then her manner is likely to be much different than if she is sitting in her apartment waiting for good fortune to shine and you to call, so lets take that into account.
Personally I tend to keep my calls as brief as possible and seek a time and instructions, I tend not to discuss services or even to ask for a favorite as my research will normally be good enough (reading profiles).
I would never let phone manner put me off as I don't know where a girl is when I phone her.
