Have punters ever been called as witnesses?

In cases involving brothel keeping, does anyone know if clients have ever been summoned to appear as a witness?

(BTW If a client is in an apartment with an escort when it's raided what's the best procedure to follow? Are you obliged to give your name and address? If you refuse, what can they do?)

Yes, you are obliged to give your name and address to a Garda (in any situation) - other than that, say nothing. As in, zero - don't ackoledge or respond to any questions without legal representation.

As Brother hd7055 stated, you must give your name and address on request. Failure to do so, and they can arrest you (I believe on the grounds of obstructing the police) and take you to the Garda Station. It's a bit like being a soldier taken prisoner by an enemy.....name, rank and serial number type thing. They can also order you to leave a location or area, and once again, you can be arrested is you refuse. You can also be arrested for resisting arrest......so if you plan an getting yourself arrested, don't bother resisiting, as one charge will then become two and some sicko might get his jollies putting the boot in.

The fact that no one, so far, has any knowledge of punters being called as witnesses is good news.

When you're asked for your name and address by the guards I assume they'd look for ID. If you happened not to have any on you what's to stop you giving a false name and address?(Not that I'd do anything like that haha!)

If it every happened to me, touch wood, I will devote the rest of my life to building a time machine, I am doing that anyway so it is nay more bother, and then when I have succeeded in building the time machine I will go back in time and book an outcall with the girl in question. I could explain the situation and the need for an outcall but the said lady would probably and with good reason think I was raving so it would be best to say nothing and just make sure we are somewhere else when the boys in blue burst through the door.
