All they would need to do to prove a brothel was in operation was to ring the telephone number and be directed to the apartment. Then they would only need to see one man go inside, hey presto, proof. Sometimes they would go inside themselves to be offered a service. From the articles, it makes it clear they are watching certain sets of ladies. All you can do is try and decide from that really.

Still can't enter without a warrant... And just cos they stop me or someone else coming from an appointment and I state I paid to spend time with a lady in 123 newbedroom apts!!! it would not be enough proof cos I might give false address etc... So they'd have to stop several before justifying a warrant me thinks!

There may be many reason why brothels/apartments are under surveillance.
I know it is not a popular concept here but women DO get trafficked and forced to work as prostitutes. They are held against their will and forced into sexual slavery. Yes, even in Ireland.
A little while ago, a 14 yr old girl was being forced to work as a prostitute in an Irish town.. She had been illegally removed from care and it was believed that she may be with the same people again.
Like it or not. HER safety and her needs prioritise that of any escort or client.

There are those who differentiate, but the law does'nt. A brothel is a premises i.e. house, apartment or hotel room with is habitually used for the purposes of postitution by more than one person engaged in that activity. EbonyAmber and myself would seem to be of the same opinion that if Escort A works alone in Apartment X today, and Escort B works alone in the same apartment tomorrow, that it would then constitute a brothel. I am also baseing this opinion on the fact that I am aware of one escort who was charged and convicted of keeping a brothel although she was working alone there when they happened to raid the place..........so the assumption would have to be that they also had evidence of other escorts using the same location at different times.

Thanks. I was reading the legal stuff and could not figure out if both had to be there at the same time or not. It would seem by the case you know of that even with just one escort in situ it can still be a brothel!!

Indeed, assuming that they have a location under observation, or even go there at different times to check out who is using the premises, they could get all the evidence they need. Simples! as my friend Lucy would say.
