From anecdotal observations online, backchannel & from parties etc, I'd hazard a guess that well over half of punters (maybe as much as 70%) have a significant other in civilian life....
To call them Loverats may be simplifying things a wee bit- many of these gents are in sexless marriages & just want to scratch a physical itch once in a while. Some ( albeit a small % but a demographic that does exist) have an open relationship whereby the partner knows full well what is going on & accepts it to some extent.
Don't get me wrong.. many (prob most) guys do sneak around in the shadows in this fine hobby of ours- but it's probably the lesser of two evils. Guilt is a purely personal thing, imo so long as you're not hurting anybody ( that includes emotional, healthwise & financial), why would you feel bad?
Don't see escorts when I am in a realationship .

it's all a matter of opinion anyway. There's mrniceguy who doesn't punt while in a relationship but had no problem banging his friends missus.
You could argue that one is worse than the other either way
