Nicole and I have received a number of reports from various escorts, and we have had a phone conversation with a couple of escorts. Based on the information we now have, we have decided to ban The Hobbyist. We believe that there has been much manipulation here and escorts have started turning on each other.

People need to remember this; escorting is a business. Clients pay an escort for their time and to emerse themselves in some role play, fun and excitement and having a bit of an ego massage. Since working here, I have noticed that a number of escorts and clients have been getting far too involved with each other, rumours and bitching has been going on and then E-I is expected to try and fish through the crap, as if WE are accountable for it!

We are all adults here and people that lie and spread shite have to remember what goes around comes around. This whole ridiculous palaver started out as a group of people from the boards, escorts and clients, getting together to have a bit of fun and a laugh. Great! No problem and each to their own. Unfortuantely it only takes one person to decide that they will stick their nose in too far and ruin it for everyone else.

Escorts need to remember that there will always be a client willing to offer a 'helping hand' as a 'friend' or whatever. We've seen this happen over and over again, clients being 'alturistic' with no alterior motives. Most of the time it's probably like the typical high-school scenario where guy tries the 'best friends' approach to a girl he likes in order to get closer to them. If there is an issue or an escort needs advice, talk to other escorts in the Private Forums, ring other escorts or send me or Nicole a message and we will either help you (without trying to be best friends in the hope for something more!) or we will at least point you in the right direction.

Clients... this is the adult industry. You are paying for an escorts' time and services they offer... they are not a conduit of information about other escorts or clients. Escorts are real people with real lives outside of their chosen careers and some have families and the last thing they need is bullshit being passed on about them just for a little self-indulgence and feeling of significance. As many of you are married with children yourselves, I'm sure you'd have a shit-fit if anything personal was disclosed about you.

Remember the key factors here:

- Report anything of concern directly to a forum manager; if it's not reported, it will be considered that it's not that big an issue. We have 101 other things to deal with
- Escorting is a business; don't be under the illusion that there's always 'something more'. Too many times we've seen this mistake being made
- It's an anonymous industry; you're not entitled to know everything about an individual. If you're unsure about a person, stay away from them
- You're all supposed to be grown-ups. Don't always expect us to get involved with tit-for-tat issues. If something is genuinely concerning you, report it. Don't assume that we know everything because your posts are not the only ones we have to read through. Reading through pages and pages of crap trying to figure out who the victim is isn't fun at all, and often results in everyone incriminating themselves
-Escorts; if you want to have a slanging match, keep it in the private forums so that clients don't dilute the point

I am not commenting on the case in point as I have no knowlege of it and do not expect to have any knowledge about it. I would personally like to keep my nose clean when it comes to such incidents.

It is easy for clients sometimes to forget that we are paying for an illusion and have absolutely no right to intrude into an escorts personal life or her business for that matter.

Its never nice to see anyone get banned but this is the very reason I avoid getting to friendly with others in the forums as everywere you go little groups always form and most tend to self destruct after a while, best to keep yourself to yourself.

I agree with this. I am delighted to be friendly and helpful with as many people as possible without getting too close. It is funny though-- many people like to bond and have allies and form little groups -- its a human need in some people I suppose. I am not a clique type person and have no interest in meeting up with or socialising with other members ( other than of course on a dinner date with one of the many ladies here ! )

It's a shame that what should have remained private spilled over to the public forum. But if lessons are learned not just by those involved but everyone else that read the threads, then something good will come out of it.

Maybe some of the content of Sam's post should be posted as a sticky. Good advice for all.
