I'm not much of a one for the bulk of what gets classified as Horror, I find it mostly just unpleasant.

The Coen Bros first big movie Blood Simple is quite scary in its own way, a mixture of suspense and a little gore.

That said, as for regular horror there is the classic Nosferatu, or slightly more up to date: Rosemary's Baby. Essentially the ones that leave a lot to the imagination, let us invent our own monsters, those are the ones that used to make me sleep with the light on when I was a lad.

My personal favourites are.....The Texas Chainshaw Massacre, The Shining, An American Werewolf in London, Halloween (the first one), IT....

While we're on the topic, can anyone remember a horror tv series played once a week, think it was a friday night. A horror host dressed up as Dracula would raise up out of a coffin in a graveyard and would introduce the horror movie you were about to watch. It was quite corny and cheaply staged but used to love it as a kid, taking into account I'm now 29, think this was around the late 80's. One episode the horror movie was abot a family trying to escape from a house, all windows and doorways were covered up with brick and in the end you discover they were living in a doll's house.
If anyone can remeber the name of the programme with the dracula horror host it would be very much appreciated. I've searched and googled it and get led to different things. Might ring a bell for someone anyway.....

I think this is what youre referring to.
