Be aware of one problem that is now quite well know. Upgrading your firmware may case your wifi to stop working permanently. There are a number of hypothesis on why this happens ranging from the new firmware causing the wifi chip to overheat/melt the solder to bug in firmware.
It is well known to Apple as the discussion on apple's support forum runs to over 142 pages so be aware of upgrading your IOS
