    Talking Monopoly

Following recent client concern about E-I being a monopoly, for example...

Like Procter & Gamble or Unilever we could create brands that are carefully marketed to appeal to different segments by slightly differentiating the product or the retail experience, but the products would be almost identical but for packaging.

Ah yes Anon, but those sister sites are clearly part of E-I network, it says it on them that they are etc. I'm talking about creating a new "BRAND" to satisfy consumer demand. It might be E-I on the inside, but on the outside it would look like something different! And thus the E-I monopoly reign would end!

Ok I'll bite, why should you, it's a dog eat dog world out there and if you're the biggest dog on the block great, keep it going as long as you can. Sure if you're really feeling guilty you could loan out your tech guys to the other site so he can put up some sort of a fight..

But how can EI relieve the monopoly when EI itself is to set up the opposition. Thats feckin ludicrous.

This thread is more a snide attack on a posters comment.

How do we know you haven't? The thought has certainly occurred to me before.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

But the original complaint being discussed here is that E-I is a monopoly.... If we were already competing with ourselves surely this monopoly problem wouldn't have arisen?
