i took them for a month. It was meant to be a three month course, but my sleep was disrupted and was having weird
dreams, also was getting short tempered so stopped after month one. But I have been off the cigarettes since January,
So tough call whether to take them or not

I have also taken them but failed to quit smoking.

Now many drugs do have side effects but the ones which result in suicide are never really soley down to the drugs. There is usually a result of a persons mental health and state, usually a history of depression or undiagnosed depression.

champax does cause some depression . Your gp has to check you out before prescribing it

So I'm sure you wil be ok

I took them about a year ago in a attempt to stop smoking but had the most terrible nausea the entire time, I do have to say that not once whilst taking them did I want to smoke but walking about all day feeling like I could be sick at any moment was worse than smoking so i am afraid to say stopped taking them and tried to use patches instead. Pity Im still somking as its a disgusting and totally stupid habit.

I've know of family & friends that took them, they were fine & they made quitting smoking a doddle. One member of my family was a really heavy smoker 200/300 a week, now a non-smoker, he swears by Champix, infact he didn't even have to finish his course. All drugs have side effects, GPs in the UK have a directory of all drugs available which lists their side effects, I pressume this will be the same here. Go to talk to your GP, he knows your medical history & can give you informed advice.

I quit smoking a couple of years ago, cold turkey.

If I can do it, so can you.

i took champix for 11 days there is lethal side effects (everything it says is possible i think lol), i had to stop taking them, but i didnt want to smoke after 4-5 days taking them. Im still off them now and its 8 or 9 weeks.
However i think if u keep in mind the side effects they will make u stop cause they block receptors in the brain. Its a trade off between side effects and getting over the first few days, i would not complete the full course.

The last thing doc told me "if u really want to give them up u will"
best of luck, its great been off them

I went from 40+ fags a day to 0 cold turkey. In my opinion if you what to give up the fags you have to convince yourself that
You are a non smoker and not just off them. Sounds kinda stupid but worked for me. I was off the fags for 6 years until my first child was born, started to get really bad cravings for a few weeks until I gave in and bought a pack. I lit up a fag and took
A pull and nearly threw my guts onto the floor, god it was rotten never in my life did I taste anything so bad, I gave away the box and hadn't thought about smoking one since. That was 4 years ago. I still love the smell of the smoke being exhaled but the smell from the person smoking or the ashtray is too much for me and I have to walk away from then.
And as Mousey said, if I can do it anybody can.
    Best if look with it.

I'm on my second week of being a non smoker. I use the Nicotinel chewing gums and sometimes the Nicorette inhalers.
It's damn hard and yesterday when I was strolling trough Sligo I needed all my will power not to buy cigarettes.
    But it can be done.

I find the thousands on videos available on the net, as a much better alternative to the Champix
