    Default Cover of Darkness

I took up punting last November and with 1 or 2 exceptions have enjoyed it and this site ever since.
I'm always very wary about beeing spotted outside appartment blocks that I would not normally have any reason to be near. I feel particularly conspicuous walking around with a mobile phone plastered to my ear constantly asking some gorgeous foreign girl to repeat her directions more slowly.
For domestic reasons, the only time of day that I can get to enjoy these activities is between 4-7pm and mostly on week days. When I first started, it was already dark at this time, but for the last few months I feel like there is a spotlight on me and so I have made very few visits over the last few months.
Just wondering if any of the guys have the same 'daylight issues' or if any of the girls experience slower business during the Spring/Summer months?

One building that I used to visit had a cab rank outside and one of the cabbies remembered my regular cab rides back to the office. He just assumed that I lived there.

Simple solution: get a high quality bluetooth headset with a noise cancelling directional mike. You don't need to shout and you do not look at all obvious. On one daylight punt in D1 I was in the street outside the escort's apartment and she was looking out of the window to get sight of her client before giving the final directions. She could not spot the punter even knowing that I was there and was talking on the phone.

My regular punting time is usually in the afternoons as well and do sometimes feel a bit conspicuous.
Rainy days are better to be a punter as there are less people about and those that are, are trying to get where they are going more quickly.
If I'm on the phone I do like to have the apartment number just before I reach the block. Text message also good.
Nothing says punter more than a bloke talking on the phone at an apartment block punching in a flat code.

Nothing? How about a scantily clad French chick hanging out of the window shouting that the door release is broken so here is the key ... catch it!

Im with you on that one Griff, i too started punting last November and at that time it was great because it was darker for longer.
Roll on the winter evenings so we can do the dirty deed in a bit of comfort.

If you think it's bad now, some years ago it was completely nerve-wracking! Occasionally I'd meet someone near a location where I wasn't meant to be....and have to think on my feet! God bless the internet and mobile phones!

You are spot on. Always terrified of being spotted by someone, family, work acquintances or neighbors. Much easier to do when dark.

I think getting spotted would be something that would almost stop me going to an appointment. By way of example, I made an appointment and was given the address when I go there I realised that an office I visit for work overlooked the entrance to the apartment.

I didn't feel comfortable going intoi the apartment and rang the lady, explaiend the position and had a first class appointment with her after 6.30 (when the office was clsoed).

I suppose if you run into the problem be honest and tell her, normally she will thank you for it rather than you just being another no show

I live just 100 yards from my local knocking shop. Its located on the busiest road through town and the traffic never lets up until about 10pm. Then its taxis whizzin past and of course all the drivers know me and they know what goes on in the apt. I normally wait for rain (usually a short wait ) and go in under cover of brolly. Naturally enough the door lock is usually jammed.Overall it heightens the experience.
