    Default R.I.P. Hightower

Heard earlier today the guy that played Hightower from the Police Academy films (Bubba Smith) died on the 3rd of August, he was 66.

Funny man I thought and was brilliant in the first movie.

Wrong. Jim Brown is alive and kicking still.

    Bubba Smith is dead.

Why, Anita, are you continuously wrong about everything?
    Why???????????

The name Bubba Smith was even in the OP, plain as day!! Plain as day, dammit!!!!!!

    However...
I forgive you. You're too sexy for me to hold it against you. Too sexy, dammit!!!!!!

Ah its really sad, all the people we loved as kids are slowly being taken away. Who is going to fill the void? I cannot think of anyone else I could watch on TV where i would be dying laughing at them sitting in the back seat of a car because the front seat was too cramped, geting driving lessons!! ( that was one of the classic police acadamy films, loved them)

I actually find that many of them improve with age so I still fancy them even more as they age!

But who exactly is dead and who isn't? This thread has me confused!

    R.I.P. Bubba Smith.

I still remember cracking up laughing watching the first police academy film. One of the funny scenes from that film was when Hightower (Bubba Smith) had to take secret driving lessons from Steve Gutternberg - and he ends up ripping the fronts seats out of a tiny Honda Civic - as he was so tall that he had to drive sitting in the back seat! (You have to see it to understand the humour). He had some height Bubba! (6'7")
