I am just standing on my window and see big black smoke and helicopters over East Belfast area , lets hope what I am hearing are just firecrackers , f***** scary !

It is firecrackers and the bonfires causing the smoke, The 11th night big fires, drinking and sometimes trouble. Tomorrow the bands and marching.

Taig is a term of abuse referring to Catholics who consider themselves Irish, not very abusive as most Catholics use it too, LOL

Hi Lillian, its just a derogatory term that the people making the boinfires would call the nationalist minority in Northern Ireland. I shouldnt even have been joking about it but there isnt quite so much hatred anymore so maybe its ok to make some jokes.
