Dress to impress, proper cock of the walk

Well actually, it depends on what I'm doing the rest of the day, if I'm not meeting clients or it's the weekend then I'm t-shirt/shirt and jeans otherwise it's a suit

    T'was a great appointment
I have had the same reaction on a few occasions when wearing a suit, and tie, on a visit to an escort. The comment has been made that I am a 'respectable gentleman'! Now normally I would puke if someone said that to me but coming from an escort it sounds kinda nice - as if they really mean it! Maybe I'm deluding myself but ....... but hey, it feels good!

Remember though as my da used to tell me. It's not the suit that makes the man, but the man that makes the suit.
I no longer wear suites. Shirt and jeans or trousers.

I know some consider it ok to wear a tracksuit but personally I would never wear one yet alone visit a lady in one.
The main reason I ask this question is I'm out now in very casual attire, jeans and a t-shirt and i have a notion to visit someone but would it be considered ok to arrive so casually dressed? It's not far off what I normally wear (shirt and jeans) but I still feel a little conscious with what I'm wearing. What do the ladies think, would I be ok?
    Hello Anon361,

I think it would depend on who you are going to visit

Making last minute booking for 30 minutes, you can, and probaly will show up in whatever you happen to be wearing.

On the other hand, if you make and advance booking with a particular lady, and you had time for a bit of anticipation, you may put

more thought into your appearance.. What do you think?
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

I just dress normal, comfy jeans and a casual jumper (not Nike or Umbro ) I don't get why someone would get dressed up though..

    A. You'll likely be walking around looking for an apartment so you wanna be as inconspicuously dressed as possible
    B. It involves effort

I don't get why guys bring flowers either. I mean, it's a nice idea and all.. but they must stick out like a sore thumb walking down the road, bouquet in one hand and phone in the other.

I used to worry about this a little until I coped on that the ladies aren't expecting me to impress them. Manners, cleanliness, timekeeping and paying up front are probably far more important to the ladies than what a bloke is wearing. Of course many of us guys feel like we're on a date - hence the wardrobe dilemna.

I dress up for work and dress down for all other occasions. So while I think I look best in a suit, I always dress casually (but smartly, I hope) when visiting a lady for an appointment. Others have made a point about blending in - and this is part of it. I've walked by work colleagues on a the way to a punt on at least two occasions, and they haven't noticed/recognized me in my casual gear. By casual gear - I mean jeans, t-shirt or pull over, summer/winter coat etc.. the sort of thing I'd wear on a night out. Track suits I think should only be allowed if you're a family member of the Royal Tenenbaums!
