Ireland has to evolve quickly, out with the old and try some
    new attitudes...

I'd love the oppertunity to vote for Norris as president. But there seems to be a nasty movement against him. Its very sad really. I hope he makes it to the ballot.

I think he is a ideal,a opinionated voice in these times.....he is the only one i would vote for out of the few mentioned...

That's the problem with Ireland. A lot of people hate to see anyone doing well IMO.

Yean can't see any problem with him being president. Race, sexual preference and creed have never bothered me

    its interesting subject this

norris has a mind and thinks for himself and has the balls and brains to fight his corner.....but history tells us that the blander and more vague and meaningless the politician/party/manifesto the greater their chance of electoral success......this is a rubicon moment in irish politics methinks.....mind you....perhaps we crossed that when mary robinson was elected

spot on man me too; plus hes made a proper pigs ear -forgive the awful pun, of the 'clarification' of his previous comments on child abuse/sponsorship of young fguys by older men; pretty distasteful stuff; not someone id like representing the country, were bad enough with the others we have in our govmt ,god help us ffs

I too would love to see David Norris elected as President. It would say a lot about Ireland if he takes up residence in Aras An Uachtarain. Unfortunately I think Ireland is still way too conservative and backward to see him in as President. The media dreging up the past, about his ancient statement on age of sexual consent and relating that to alleged views on Paedophilia, say it all!

I hope so, it always seems to be the same when someone stands out from the crowd, they become a target for an anti- movement. However, he is well able to fight his own corner, unfortunately thats not always enough.
