Great post, John.

This is a great reflection of the times here. The innocence of youth would never cotton on to anything sinister or sexual about Bert and Ernie sharing baths and a bed.

The innocence of the times. Remember that Reeves and Mortimer sketch in the 80's when they shared a bed? The sketch wasn't based on anything sexual, however it seemed sort of natural in it's own context.

Everyone knows that they are just two friends who rent a one bedroom flat due to tough economic conditions.
Obviously they then have to share a double bed.
Their Pi's are always fully buttoned and there is clear separation between them in bed.
Please don't spoil my childhood memories by suggesting anything different.
