Queen without a doubt were/are the better of the 2 bands and probably influenced more people to start learning & playing music.
The Sex Pistols made a big impact in a short period of time, but Queen's impact still lasts.

I loved the way Freddy said he grabbed Sid Vicious by the lapels and told him to feck off! LOL! Queen definately rock! The Pistols were just a bunch of gobshites that thrashed out of tune notes on a noisy guitar (in my opinion )

    Queen rock!

Hmm Sam, I think you may need to sit down and listen to Never Mind The Bollix. NME even vote it in the top 5 albums of all time.

I did mate, and Bollocks was the word for it! LOL! I have to give them there dues, they were right for the time, but as Roger Taylor said, 'Queen never went out of fashion because they were never in fashon', hence the longevity of their music I suppose.

If you take the Pistols as the figureheads of punk, the influence on bands of that ethic is immense, from the late 70s to new bands
many, many bands will site them as an influence.

Yes, I have to admit they did put a landmark in the history of punk, although it's a genre not suited to my palate
