I think it's better to get the instruction from the punter's first. e.g: can you send text me when you're free? OR Listen to your voice mail and call him back if he did leave a message. Those options are the best as it safe for both parties.

Hmm. I must be extremely luck as every call/text I sent to book/confirm an appointment has been answered almost immediately, if not only up to a max of 15 minutes later... Go figure.
