You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

    16th president of US (1809 - 1865)

Seen it they need to review the NCT as well , in every other E.U country there is more than one test body so if you are not happy with one you can go to the other, I think what ever credibility the NCT had was lost after the revelations on prime time

At the moment the taxi industry is a joke half the drivers don't know where they are going I got into a taxi a month ago told the driver where I wanted to go his reply you direct I drive ffs it takes half an hour to get from georges street up to Camden street on a Saturday night it like the carlsberg add on a saturday night. But on a serious note there should be an investigation into the nct giving a licence to a car that is not roadworthy is playing around with lives.

It's worth noting that as a customer we have the right to choose the taxi we travel in (Link to Taxi Regulator). So if don't like the look of the first taxi in the rank for any reason (I refuse to get into a taxi more than 4 years old - I know, I'm a prick) don't be afraid to skip it and get into a car of your choice. OK, it may cause a little bit of agro at the rank between the drivers but at the end of the day I don't want to be stuck in some untidy banger with the smell of stale cigarette smoke.

Very true but a lot off people don't know that and feel they have to get into the first car on the rank.

The NCT process is definately corrupt.

The taxi industry has people walking over each other and taking whatever cost saving measures they can to try and make a living out of it. It also has people using it as a cover for other illegitimate activities. So it's difficult to call it corrupt but it definately contains a very bad element.

there was a time when a taxi plate cost €50k+ and a good
living could be made. then 1000s of people entered the business
because of what they called 'deregulation'. theres far too many at it
and there is great tension in that industry already...
