Bangharda, I love that term. I have to admit I have used it once or twice to wind people up.

You're totally right Violette, at the end of the day we are each others only land border and the UK is Ireland's largest trading partner and we are their fifth largest. Both countries are linked in every way possible.

Being from both English and Irish heritage, I find it sad that there are still people out there who cant put the past aside. People indeed can live side by side. You gents just need to get your "fix" more often and the world would be a carefree place.

I hope this visit does improve relations both on a friendship level and an economic level for everyone.

Lovin both countries so sort it folk.

I think no matter who visits you will always have some crackpots, nutters or just plain total scumbags who will protest and cause trouble.

Can anyone think of any world leader that could visit our shores without a protest.....it's not just here, crackpots are a worldwide group.

Hey thanks for that photo. It sums up the situation yesterday completely....... as for the photo itself, I dont know whether to laugh or cry at it? It really is a pity people could be so naive and, kinda innocent in a weird way.

for a start sport is politicisied. if you look at what they were protesting then it was a foreign national anthem. seriously, in this day and age what purpose do national anthems have in sport?

but, ya, yer man was a total gobshite. that really is the level of people we are deaing with here.
