I know all of this, what is your point? The govt helps them so they can bring taxes back to thier country, it's simple. As for the speculators, they increse prices and higher prices means what? You guess it more tax. It's all a con, it increases the price of everyday goods (due to higher material and transport costs). But why? Yep, more taxes. It's far sneakier than increasing income taxes and they can make th oil companies look like the baddies for posting higer profits.
