i'm surprised that people can step over and rationalise
the enormous scandal that has occured within catholicism.
Agreed, it's mind boggling that people can still defend Catholicism after all that's happened. Just goes to show what a remarkable hold religion can have over some people who've had it instilled into them from birth. No wonder the Jesuits said, "Give me the boy and I'll show you the man".
Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough.
Right, I'll debate the arse off yeh.
Are you disparaging the entire philopsophy of Catholicism because of the child abuse scandal?
Is that not like condemning the entire teachings of Islam because of suicide bombers, or damning Science because it can't conclusively find the Theory of Everrything?
No, absolutely not Mousey. I am disparaging the entire Catholic organisation because of the child abuse scandal.
Belief in the philosophy of Catholicism is something else entirely and something I disparage of for totally different reasons, none of which I'm not particularly interested in debating on this board.
The only point I would disparage, in context, is the notion of papal infallibility which I believe has enabled them to justify internally the cover up of the abuse scandals.
Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough.
