I had a long think about advance bookings today. Yesterday I had 5 time wasters. And I'm not talking about idiots who call ask a million questions and then say they will call back. I am talking about people who have called, made an appointment for a particular time and not shown up. I ask for a 30 mins confirmation but it doesn't make a difference. If somebody calls at 1pm for a 4pm appointment I tell everyone else who calls that I am busy at that time. When the tw*t doesn't show I have lost out and so have the genuine gents that wanted to visit.
I don't like the whole first come first served way of working as I like plans, order and it does feel a little seedier to me to be honest. However if this is the only way that I can avoid people who are wasting my time then it's what I'm about to start doing.
Double booking seems so appealing at the moment but then come the million bad reviews. Meh
So yes as everyone has said this is normal. I have never found it to be as bad in any other country though. A lot of the men of Ireland in my humble opinion are spoilt wanting something for nothing but when you give them what the want they take the micheal. Not all of course- but a high number.
ffs 5 time wasters in one day, and as a result you and the genuine clients lose out.
Just can't understand why people go to the trouble of making an appointment, never to show up.
