What are you talking about? Ireland has had oak trees for a very long time they were the tree of the druids this tree is a 900 year old Oak tree in Ireland but a lot of them were chopped down cause the people don't care.

I worked in the industry for 25 years so I do know what I am talking about, most of our Beech and Oaks are no more then 300 years old and planted by the English, sure there are a few ones like your pic but they are only sporadic.

Well i don't control the media lso i can't influence public opinion. Most people just swallow up what the media tells them and the media undereports the important things, for instance The company coillte may be auctioned off to private interests not of Ireland and the future generations won't have any parks to walk in Woodland League - Dedicated to Restoring the Relationship Between People and Their Native Woodlands the corporate enterprise owns the media they only broadcast things in their own interest it seems
