Well, I have a question that you might not like.
Look back at the type of threads that you initiate, Gaylord. They practically all deal with what a raw deal gays are getting in society, and are worded or presented in such a way that we generally have to agree that gays are being disciminated against.
I think this attitude is (generally speaking) indicative of the gay movement's skewed idea of equality. Equality for homosexuals is not about the one-way empowerment of gays - I think it should be more about removing the stigma that some people place on gays. But at the same time, I think that in another generation or two simple demographics will do that - the children of the 21st century will grow up in a pluralist society that includes gays and lesbians as just other men and women to live alongside.
(Do I have to write my disclaimers here? I think you know I'm not particularly biased anyway )
I just realised that I didn't ask a question, I just made a comment.
I think that you are expecting previous generation to be more closed minded? Gay's were not always shunned..& you would hope that the next generation will grow up with more open minds but sometimes it requires them to be exposed to LGBT people. And not everyone knows and openly gay/lesbian/bi-sexual/ transgendered person...

I agree with you there GL about gay people becoming more and more accepted and not shunned in society. Turn on the TV especially and you see many more gay people on it than ever before. As for transgender however, I genuinely cant see them gaining that level of acceptance anytime soon, though I hope I am wrong.
Ohhhhh.... never mind.
