This was during the Vancouver riots, following their loss to the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup (NHL Finals) last year....
Think one of them was a backpacker, and the other a local, seized the moment... further research dug this up..
A great picture, but interesting in how the image was said to be as iconic as this one... I think this one has more resonance.
