Making light of something like this is deeply distasteful Jane. Slightly unwise also.

Really sorry to hear about this guy. but apart from reporting this crime and it is a crime regardless of gender. He should really get himself checked out by his GP as well. If she has done this to him chances are, he was not the first one to experience this.

I wonder if you would give this advice to a girl? So, because he is a man, he should just get over it? A bit unfair to dismiss the distress he may be feeling.

No I wouldn't give that advice to a girl or to a guy. But it is what I would do. Our society and culture tend to associate sexual assault only with women. I would be embarrased to say "I was raped by a woman" just like I would be embarrased to say "my wife beats me up". It is wrong but 1000s of men suffer in silence because their too embarrased to speak. If it happened to me I would be one more. Society teaches men not to show weakness or emotion as if it makes them less of a man.

if it was me the first thing I would do is get an STD test, next I'd like to think I'd talk to the rape crisis centre (don't know if they deal with blokes) and not wrongly bury it. The reason for this is that I wouldn't know if the woman might change her story and say you were the rapist if you reported her. If someone is willing to do that, who knows what they are capable of. I'd just like to have all my bases covered before I approached the Garda, but if I was to report it to them I would make sure to do this all within 24 hours as time is key in things like this.

Daithi I am sorry but I held my tongue long enough. Nobody is talking about Urban Myths here. Anyone that knows me on the boards or in chat, or the ladies that have met me in person, know that I dont talk about these things lightly.
I probably should have said that I found the lady attractive.
The problem probably is that she doesnt find herself attractive. I dont know, I cant even imagine trying to get in to her head.

But Daithi I find it deeeply upsetting that you would consider my thread as "a load of cobblers". Your previous 15 posts ,must have been really enlightening.

    This upsets me big time.
I shared something emotional here only to get it slapped back in my face.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread, I really appreciate it.

I would have the creeps no matter who did it. I am a human being, I need to be able to make my own decisions and mistakes. I would feel so violated if someone took that away, and it would not matter if that person was male or female. Men get a crap deal for this type of thing, are you not people too? To say that men are led entirely by their cock and self gratification is degrading. If a man had done this to another man or indeed female, we would be screaming for their blood. But because its a woman, and an attractive one, we want to excuse it. That is wrong, and in my opinion women cant ask for equality unless they realise that the man is equal too.

Well Takemedrunk I don't like to see people upset of course. I did say "prob a load of cobblers". And the story so far is that some lads went out on the piss; one of the lads woke up out of it in a room with some other people around and sometime later an attractive woman confessed she had drugged him and molested him in some unexplained way using a sophisticated drug. This all supposedly happened in a quiet neck of the woods. Obviously if it is true it's horrific but I find it very hard to believe and still think it's prob someone pulling the piss outa him. U must make up ur own mind.
