I like ExP, he is quirky. Most of his threads are quirky and most people take them for what they are. It's not that long ago someone started a thread stating that ExP had expressed a dying wish for everyone on the forum to be made aware of his death. I doubt if anyone took it seriously. His thread this morning would have died a similar death, if left alone.
Moderation is fine, in moderation!!! Sometimes the actions are too impulsive from mods and I'm saying that from the point of view of someone that doesn't, generally, cause offense. Maybe you should try 'not moderating' for a day and let us all see what actually happens.
I don't get the 'legal reasons' response either. Who is going to sue E-I for being banned unfairly under a profile name Who are E-I going to take to court for creating multiple profiles and posting false reviews.
I don't know you Sam, so I will have to accept that you are laid back. I do know that you try to be fair on here and appreciate that you have reversed decisions sometimes, in the clear light of day. I have re-read the original thread about the bannings, but it's still very vague to me. Anyway, I will leave it at that.

It's legal in terms of liable; not only that, misguided information can also lead to other unneccessary speculation and leads to people giving out personal details of particular people, so you can appreciate that we need to avoid this too. I've given the basics of this investigation and cannot go into any more detail, so I appreciate you leaving it there. As for not modding for a day, that would just be plain stupid. You should see the number of reported posts, reported reviews, fake photo reports and bad client reports we receive on a daily basis!

i think what Forrest meant was, leave the FORUM do it's own thing for a day, obviously the SITE needs a constant eye on it, as you say reviews, fake photo reports, bad clients etc should be modded, but maybe for a day the posters can say what the hell we want without fear of an infraction or banning

I can read between the lines, fella. If mods stopped posting for a day, intervention would only be inevitable once someone starts upsetting someone. It's not as if we can just take action and step back without an explanation. That would be completely redundant to the point we are making here.

Maybe they are afraid that they won't be needed in the long term, if they left us alone for a day and we all behaved.
