I had problems with my laptop too. It tookl forever to load up and error messages. Along with that my cd drive packed in. I got a new one. I rather laptops. I wouldn't get a pc as their bulkier. You can take your laptop anywhere. When I switch it on now I can use it instantly.

What does it need to do? Is the weight more important than anything else, then go for a tablet or a netbook. If it needs to be able to do something specific or run some specific program, then check what platform those work on. Or is how it looks also very important, does it need to work with a specific printer or scanner or something like it, then that is also something to consider before deciding what kind of computer to get.
Oh and it could be something as simple as a depleted battery, does it do the same when running on the mains?

I'm pretty useless when it comes to figuring out IT problems, so can't offer any suggestions Fiona. But I totally empathise Fiona, have had a long love hate relationship with my various laptops. Can't live without em, and can't live with em.Originally Posted by Fiona
I've always used a PC but am tempted to get a Mac next time round. I've so many friends with Macs and they swear by it. Apparently Macs give a lot less trouble too.

Yep all my mates use them and swear by them. But their are pro's and con's to both.

the dont get much smaller and cooler than this,,,it fits in an A4 envelope,,,no moving parts to go wrong and when you turn it on it's on,,,instantly,,,no waiting!
