So who was I going to vote for now?

Labour would get into bed with the unions and be their puppets and therefore obstruct established businesses/entrepenuers etc, i.e. the very people that take the risks required to generate employment and drag the country out of the sewer.

The monster raving Green party would obvuiously be a wasted vote.

Too many independants would destabilise goverment at a time when it most needs stability.

    So who's left?

    I voted FF.

You hit the nail on the head Willyup. We are screwed every which way!

I'd never vote Labour because of the reasons you've outlined, and also the fact that they've promised to criminalize escort clients (i.e me!!).

The Greens are fair weather and likely to pull out of any coalition for a good sulk.

I cant even contemplate voting for Sinn Fein. I'd seriously consider leaving the country if they were part of a power sharing government.

The independants are a disparate group of ultra left wingers and socialists. Realistically they would just destabilize any government.

So that just leaves FF and FG.

I'm probably more of an FF person (I'm fairly right wing even though I hate to admit it). However, I do think we need a change of government, and FF don't stand a hope of getting in any way.

So I voted FG. Even though Enda Kenny is a muppet and I cant' stand James O'Reilly. (Gave my second preference to FF though purely to spite Labour and the others).
