I would also be very wary of making any comments relating to the availability of paid for sex reducing the risk of rape.

I have started a blog entitled The Irish Sex Workers Union, about this issue, and would like to give a balanced view from both sides.

As always Violette, I value your well thought opinions. I agree that us clients need to make some sort of a stand and write letters.

However, I think Laylawman is right in this matter. There is absolutely no sympathy from any corner of society for men that visit escorts (except from men that visit escorts and of course that doesn't count). We are seen as predators at worst, or as sad individuals at best.(You ans I know Violette, that escorts give clients far more than sex, but outside this community, no one will understand that).

Therefore I think any arguments we the male clients put forward should be from a different perspective. And we should not identify ourselves as clients.

There is a very good post on this by the 'Hobbyist' on the thread "Welcome to the Turn off the Blue Lights forum". He has suggested tackling the issue from by suggesting that the new legislation attacks the freedom of consenting adults. I have also made some comments with regard to this on that thread.

SO I completely agree with you Violette that us men need to get our behinds and have some sort of a voice. But I think it should not be done from 'client perspective'.

On the other hand as much as there is stigmatization on escorts, you will still draw some supprot and sympathy from certain corners of society and so your voice needs to be heard. "SWAI" seems a good organization and platform for escort voices to be heard. See thread and link posted by Queen Bee

I will check out your blog Violette. That may be the best place for us men to voice our positive opinions as clients.
