but as with most things on this site the loudest squeeks get the oil.
If we ( and the management ) can agree, that the Soap Opera section be unmoderated ( except for Spam, and anything that could get the site sued ), then I think that would be an acceptable solution to this problem.

    I take my Irishness seriously too - doesn't mean I can't take a joke.

i also was not the only one that reported his post there must have been quiet a few who did as samlad has said.
I disagree - my problem symptoms in this particular case, is that I didn't get to read the topic before it was deleted. Having that said, as the OP, I am trying to stress that this thread isn't about problems - it's about solutions.

There must be a solution that allows me, and other like-minded people to discuss adult/contraversial issues, and occasionally have a potentially contraversial joke, without others being forced to read it.

Everybody votes on whether they think that sort of post should be allowed or not.
Then we'll know who's in the majority.
I bet the number of complainers was minuscule compared to the number of people who simply got a laugh out of it.

Lets go one step further and replace the word "Irish" with "Martian". I'm quite confident we don't have anyone here from Mars who would take offence. This is all assuming that someone still has a copy of the post.

By the way, there are plenty great Black and Jewish comedians who are well able to take the piss out of themselves.
(Sorry, I don't know any Escort comediennes .
most comedians take the piss out of their own race or nationality, black comedians tend to slag black people and call them "n****s" and its accepted if we said that we would be slated, Joan rivers is jewish and takes the piss out of jews constantly nothing is out of bounds for her, tommy tiernan always taking piss out of the irish, it's just the way it is!

Some people are just too serious and like complaining, they need to lighten up, if you don't like a post just ignore it! why act like a child!

Probably. And both numbers would be dwarfed by the number who don't give a...

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

the only problem with no moderation is you will eventually end up with something like /b/ (very scary place), OK something's are funny but most is dangerous and disgusting. Personally I don't mind moderation but I think it should be done by people not posting on the boards that way mods can't throw their weight around wind people up and when they get a reaction get busy with the ban/infract button
